Cheminus was doomed from the start to become a ghost town. It boomed for a short time for the only reason it was the temporary terminus for the Ontario Northland Railway at the Quebec border. As soon as the ONR received its charter to cross into Quebec, Cheminus declined in importance and became another ghost town. Submitted by: Henry Chenoweth
