NAME: Metagama
COUNTY: --
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Snow in Winter, Warm Summer.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Summer
COMMENTS: Worth Seeing.
REMAINS: Foundations and ruins.
Accessible only by rail from Sudbury, Metagama was never more than a section camp or village for CPR rail crews. Its heyday was during the First World War when a construction crew occupied the village. After the construction project was completed, the crew moved out and Metagama was left to stand-alone. Structures that have survived the years are the old insulbrick section houses and the small station that is a waiting room for passengers. Submitted by: Henry Chenoweth
