COUNTY: Temiscamingue, canton de Tabaret

GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Snow in winter, warm summers
BEST TIME TO VISIT: April-Octobre
COMMENTS: No residents, barely any evidance that a sawmill stood here. The site lies about 35km north of Temiscaming, on Hwy 101. before climbing ahill (on the hwy) a small dirt road stretches to the tracks where the spur and station stood. The mill lay north of th trail behind the bushes and shrubs
REMAINS: A few old vehicules litter the site of the mill, while some saw dust can be found at times. Some small relics and markings of where buildings stood.
A small sawmill community, which began near a saw mill in the late 1940's. The site included a company store, a spurr, station, and bunkhouse. the remainder of the community lay scattered around the mill, Hwy., and tracks, and respected no organisation. By 1960 the mill was slowing down and closed in 1962. From a peak of 125, only 25 remained in 1963, and nobody even resided the township by 1970's. Submitted by: Yvan P.Charbonneau
