6-23-99 MEYERS RANCH BURNED

Received word recently of the destruction of the historic Meyers Ranch, which is located a half mile up canyon from the historic Barker Ranch, notorious as the place of capture of Charlie Manson in 1969. Dave Brenner, a ranger with Death Valley National Park, is investigating the cause of the fire. It was found still smoldering by an explorer. No cause is yet determined.
