Coal Mine Mesa was a Navajo town that appears to have been recently abandoned. The reason it was abandoned is that it was part of the land exchange between the Navajos and the Hopi in the recent reallocation of lands agreement. It was a Navajo Chapter House; it is now located on Hopi-owned land. - Submitted by Kurt Wenner.
