| Isadore Daunet discovered these mineral deposits while on his way to Arizona. the Eagle Borax Company was quickly formed to mine the deposit. Between 1882 and 1883 the company shipped 260,000 pounds of borax. Sweltering summer heat and competition from other companies put an end to the Eagle Borax works two years after it started.
