Adrian was planned as a resort area and a base for pleasure excursions up and down the Snake River. It was a plan of a Dr. McKinney from Illinois. Only a few cabins were built before Dr. McKinney died and the plan was abandoned. The cabins that were constructed were torn down by settlers and rebuilt in other areas.
