Hall Valley is located in Handcart Gulch, which another small camp is named after. The gulch was named for the handcarts that miners used to use to pull outfits up the steep valley walls. It was a rowdy area that reached its peak in 1876-77 when there were several hundred unruley miners here. Today a tumble down cabin and some ruins mark the site.
