Morley was a company coal town that was originally known as Cima. At one time there were over 600 residents. Coal was shipped from here to a steel plant in Pueblo. The school was closed in 1955 and the mine shut down in 1956. All the buildings were razed except for the church as they thought it woudl be sacrilegious to tear down a church.
