Ketchum wasn’t always known as Ketchum. It was once known as Leadville. During its mining days Ketchum not only had a post office and a newspaper, it had more than a hundred businesses. There was even a toll road that wound up Trail Creek that connected Ketchum with the other mining settlements of Clayton, Bayhorse, and Custer. The old mining town of Ketchum today is a prominent recreation center.
