Baltic, a mining location on the Copper Range Rail Road was established in the latter quarter of the 1800s. In 1905, the population of Baltic was recorded as 1,200, and was noted as having a post office, general store, and a local physician - C.S. Norton. By 1918, the population had more than doubled from 1,200 to 3,000 in 13 years. Eventually, the Baltic Mining operation had panned out, and the population of this now Ghost Town - sought homes and employment elsewhere. Submitted by: Ryan J. Hill
