CLIMATE: Snow in winter, hot in summer
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Spring summer and early fall
It's east of Fairmont and there's a sign that say Guckeen.
REMAINS: A bar, a church a few houses. Grain elevator still in use.
|I'm not so sure how Guckeen got started or why it's so nearly deserted. The way it looks, with all the farm land around, it was at one time a farming town and possibly it just stayed small. If I read right, it was founded in 1856. If anyone has more information about Guckeen Minnesota, feel free to add more. Submitted by: Kimberly Perryman
