COMMENTS: San Francisco's Town Hall was built in 1917 (possibly as a schoolhouse) and moved to its present location in 1962. The Swedish Methodist Church is possibly in use as a farm building. REMAINS: Town Hall - others possible/unknown

Dating back to the mid 1800's, San Francisco was the initial county seat of Carver County. A year later, a vote took place, with San Francisco, Carver, and Chaska each vying for the honor. Chaska handily won the contest. Submitted by: Tim Wink
