From Gainsville, MO take 5 North 13.4 Miles, turn right on state 95. Town is 1.9 miles on the right. From AVA, MO Take 5 south for 16 miles. Turn left on State 95. Town is 1.9 miles on the right.
REMAINS: Five newer houses. The old McPherson Doctors office.
This town was established in the 1860s. It was named after Albert and Martha Fry McPherson who founded it and owned and operated the Doctor's office there. James M Fry operated the general/ grocery store. There was a 2 room school house tore down in the 1990s and a post office that was discontinued in the 1960s At its height it had a population of 220.
