LUCERNE

NAME: Lucerne
COUNTY: Putnam
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Cold winters, warm humid summers
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Spring, summer, fall
COMMENTS: Used to be a rail town, fairly thriving until until WWII. Served as a 'bedroom community" for nearby Unionville, MO. Some interesting old houses still standing, though unoccupied, many original fixtures (in the 19th and early 20th centuries, shelving and book cases and china hutches were built into the walls, not free-standing furniture as today). Semi-ghost.
REMAINS: Some houses and buildings
