REMAINS: The only visible remains are the old general store and the old blacksmith shop
The story as relayed by my grandparents, who used to live in the house across the street from the only two standing buildings (I grew up in that house): Woolworth used to be a major trainstop between Brookhaven to the west and Silver Creek (NE of Monticello) to the east. When cars began to come into being, roads were built that by-passed Woolworth. The old sawmill closed, and the train stopped running.
