|Silesia was a small farming community that never got real big. The post office and general store are now abandoned but the bar/grill is still open. It is mainly a bedroom community for Laurel or Red Lodge now. At one time there was a scandel because a family in town adopted 2 indian children and they were not allowed to attend school. The family had to move onto the reservation so they could go to school. The schoolhouse just recently burned down, it was one of the last one room schools in Montana. It was a large blue building and was converted into a house later. Submitted by: Roxanne Sharbono
