This town was originally called Fischbein and was founded along the Milwaukee Road Railroad in 1907. The name was later changed to Gascoyne after one of the railroad's foreman. It had 97 residents in 1930 at its peak population. The post office closed in 1982 and the town is being abandoned as this is written.
