Benson: Began as a town August 16, 1911 and continued until July 31, 1918. They should have lasted. The big drought was over. The war was over and everything was supposed to be on the up swing. For some reason they just couldn't hang on. First postmaster was John O. Benson. One book says 1911 to 1919. You may pick either date that fits your purpose.
