GOLDEN

NAME: Golden
COUNTY: Nye
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime.
COMMENTS: Was always very small.
REMAINS: Wooden Cabin.

A small camp formed at Golden following the discovery of gold in 1906. However, the ore was not of consistently high grade and when large deposits where discovered elsewhere most of the fifty or so people left. A small number stayed behind and worked the claim until 1913 when the camp was abandoned. Nothing but a partially collapsed wooden cabin marks Golden today.
