Lockes was a ranching settlement with only a service station and a food store. The springs were used by freight wagons heading from Hamilton to Reveille. The site was the only place to get gas and good between Currant and Warm Springs. The station and restaurant closed in the 1950s and the Lockes family sold out in 1963. The site has bee abandoned for years and is slowly eroding away but a number of buildings still remain.
