SILVER GLANCE

NAME: Silver Glance
COUNTY: Nye
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime.
COMMENTS: Pretty scenery.
REMAINS: Nothing.

Silver Glance was Hannapah’s sister camp. The mainstay of the camp was the Silver Glance mine, which prospectors discovered in 1905. The townsite was sit up in 1906, and the real estate promoters who had worked Hannapah also promoted Silver Glance. They were even less successful there than they were at Hannapah. The closing of the mine in 1909 spelled the end for the camp. Although revivals did take place in later years. Only a few substantial buildings were ever built at the townsite and there is no trace of them today.
