UNIONVILLE

NAME: Unionville
COUNTY: Pershing
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Mild Winter, hot summer.
BEST TIME TO VISIT:
Anytime.
COMMENTS: Near Winnemucca.
REMAINS: A few original buildings.

For a town that had only ten really good years, Unionville didn't do too badly. Its population never exceeded 3,000 and was probably less most of the time. The town's best years were from 1870 to 1880 when it produced about $3,000,000, mostly in silver. The best-preserved building is a schoolhouse built on a hill facing the town. The school was named Buena Vista. Unionville is off and east of highway 40 and south of Mill City. Submitted by Henry Chenoweth.
