The Quinn Canyon Mountains is home to Willow Creek. Although barely remembered today, it was once the scene of much activity. The first mining claim was made in 1911 and by 1913 a camp of eighty existed. There were seven separate claim groups in Willow Creek. Each claim group was made up of a number of separate claims of vertical veins containing free gold laced with large amounts of green talc. Activity in the Willow Creek district continued until late 1914 when production stopped. The area was dormant until 1917 when new discoveries reopened the area. This lasted until 1922. Again, the district was quiet, this time until 1926. Another attempt to revive the area was made but failed and operations ceased the following year. Scattered ruins remain at Willow Creek but only one structure still stands.
