COMMENTS: Private residence. From Canajoharie, take route 10 to Mapletown Road. Turn left and head straight down the hill to the the fork in the road. Located at the cornerof Shunk & Mapletown Road.
REMAINS: House (private residence) , carriage house (these are the only two buildings still standing that are original to the town), foundations of silos, cheese factory, creamery, mill race, foundations of two other houses, old dam
The founding of the town is unknown but as far back as 1820's or earliera town flourished at the sight. My grandparents bought the house in the 50's and have lived there ever since. Just this past summer I began to unearth the creamery. Submitted by: James Anderson
