Founded during the land rush of 1883 Okobojo boomed for the first few years. The Post Office, School and Newspaper were established in 1884. Farming was hard and the population soon started trailing off. The winter of 1888 sent many of the remaining settlers packing. The few remaining pioneer families finally abandoned Okobojo in the dust bowl days of the 30's. See www.okobojo.com for more information. Submitted by: Scott Green
