HARKER CANYON

NAME: Harker Canyon
COUNTY: Tooele
ROADS: 4WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Hot in Summer, Snow in winter.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Spring, Summer, Fall
COMMENTS: Harker Canyon is about 6 miles South of Vernon Utah. UPDATE: 21 May 2001 I visited the areas pictured on your site today. I drove all over Harker Canyon looking for them without luck then went one canyon West (about 2 miles) and found the canyon where they were located. I can't find that it has a different canyon name but does have "North Oak Brush Creek" listed for the stream coming out of it. You may want to advise people that want to visit there to go to the canyon 2 miles west of Harker Canyon. The road enters it at approx UTM 12 372091 4429565. Roger Winkler
REMAINS: Collapsed buildings, mines, mining equipment

Harker canyon is located in the Sheeprock Mountains south of Vernon. I know nothing about the history of the canyon, or the name of the town, but it looks like there were several people living there at one time. I only explored a small portion of the canyon, so there is probably much more to be seen. The enitre area is National Forest land, so you can explore as much as you like without having to worry about trespassing. Submitted by: Ryan Crockett
