REMAINS: Store, 3-4 houses, falling down, no one lives there
Ruterford was laid out in 1881 as a lumber camp on the Cairo and Kanawha Valley RR, named for Mr. Rutherford, who was a share holder in the C&KV RR. At one time had a population of 85, had store, church, post office and school. Nothing remains today but a few old buildings falling down. Submitted by: Ronnie Nelson
