| Located on the south bank of New River opposite of Fayette, South Fayette was mainly a depot town. Eventually a bridge was built across the river to connect both Fayette and South Fayette in order to provide residents of Fayetteville access to mainline passenger trains that only stopped at Fayette Station. The depot was closed in 1963 and by 1970 was demolished. |
