The town of Coolidge is on public property, administered by the U.S.D.A as part of Beaverhead National Forest. The Coolidge Mill was on private property and has been torn down. It was on the verge of collapse anyway and without extensive repair would have fallen down on its own. The Forest Service is engaged in moved the creek bed back to its original position, it having been altered to serve the mine. Nearly all the buildings in Coolidge have collapsed, but it is still worth visiting. Coolidge is a 20th century ghost town. A good source of information about Coolidge is the book "One Man's Dream" by Shirley Nichols and Lorene Lovell.
