Ballart is DEFINITELY worth the visit, and you might want to give yourself extra time there to hike up to Claire Camp as well. Lots to see! BUT HOT!!!!
Darwin and Keeler are worth slowing the car down but not much else.
How far are you going up 395? I can think of a couple of other ideas. Let me know!

: I am planning a trip up Highway 395 in August (yes, I'm braving the heat). I have considered a side trip to Ballarat, Darwin and Keeler. Are these towns worth a visit? What other towns in the area do you recommend?
