Has anyone read the follwing message in the news section of the website?
The Utah Department of Natural Resources is starting a mine
reclaimation project. I talked to one of the men heading the project.
He said that many of the old mining sights are going to be completely
removed. Currently, they are working on the mines in the area of
Mercur, Manning, West Dip, Topliff, Scranton, etc... Jacob City will
remain untouched as it is on private property, and Ophir will remain as
well.
I can't believe that the state of Utah would be so brazen in destroying historical sites in the name of "safety" Is there something that we can do to stop them?? Let me know your feelings on this.
