Not far from Avery on the Loop Creek drainage are a few old townsites that came into existance about 1908. These were railroad towns that came into being as the Milwaukee was building its trestles and tunnels through the mountains of Idaho, south of Lookout Pass. Towns with names such as Falcon, Grand Forks, and Adair were here. Nothing really left at Grand Forks. Falcon has a few broken down cabin sites. I haven't visited Adair yet. There are several other sites in the vicinity as well. A good reference to look at would be the book entitled "Up the Swiftwater". Hope that helps.
