Near Watrous, New Mexico, the ruins of Fort Union, and nearby the fabulous ruin of Loma Parda.
Loma Parda was written about by Louis L'Amour in his "Mustang Man". The family Baca was well known and his saloon survives. Several well-known prostitutes also worked in Loma Parda. Nearby also are the Rabbit Ear hills, a very interesting formation. E-mial me if you want more sites.
