While surfing GT sites I came across a current photo of Bodie. I was stunned!! Where did the buildings go? The Miners Union (Museum)and the one next door (if memory serves...the Undertaker) have been torn down!! Does anyone know why this was done. Bodie is supposed to be a Historic Site preserved in a state of "arrested decay"! Speaking as a carpenter I have in the past and am currently restoring local Historic Structures that are in much worse condition than what I remember seeing in Bodie. These proud Ghosttowns are vanishing at an ever accelerating rate all on their own, we don't need to help! When they are gone they are gone forever. Any comments? Stephen F. Rich.
