The most well preserved ghost town I've seen is called Ophir. The down side is that people live there, so it is all on private property with signs posted. If it wasn't on private property, it wouldn't be so well preserved though. It is definitely worth a day trip to see. I think if you drive to the very end of the canyon you could camp there, but it may all be private property now. If you need directions, write me back.
