There probably was a place (or places) known
as Spanish Wells; although I've never heard of
a town by that name, doesn't mean it didn't
exist. But I tend to think more along the lines of
it being a ficticious "hollywood set". It's pretty
amazing how they can turn a set like the one in
Old Tucson into several different "towns" just
by changing a camera angle, or moving a few
props around, etc. Also, towns often changed
their names for one reason or another, usually
after becoming incorporated. For example,
Wells, Nevada, or any other place that had a
spring, hot spring, well, etc., may have been
known as "Spanish Wells" originally.
