Hello Mike,
Sorry but well preserved ghost towns are a thing in movies. Most that are in good shape have become artist colonys and really are'nt much fun. However along I 40 in NM is Madrid, in Az there is Oatman. Also in Az. about 40 miles south of I 40 is the town of Jerome, a beautiful place but populated. To find the places you can truely call ghost towns get off the beaten path, go down dirt roads just for the sake of doing it, you never know what you might find. As you drive the back roads look for mine tailings, where you find mines you find towns. Usually very little is left but you can still get a feel for what it was like a hundred years ago, so good luck. Geoff [email protected]
