There are some ghost towns along the old transcontinental railroad. There really isn't alot left of any of them, but it's a nice day trip to follow the old grade out to Nevada.
Make this trip only in a 4 X 4, and then make sure that it hasn't rain in a while. The mud out there can be scarry. Be careful driving across some of those old railraod bridges, some are sturdy and some aren't.
