Nevadaville mine called "PRIZE"

I have been up to Nevadaville a couple of times, and have walked up to a large former mining building built above the town with the name "PRIZE" on it. It appears to have been a fairly large operation at one time; can anyone tell me about this mine please? Thankyou!
