: : We finally found Horseheaven Oregon after many, many
: : dusty miles. I wouldn't try the trip in a car though.
: : anything less than 4x4 and you'll be struggling big
: : time to get back. Lot's of buildings, mine shaft and
: : a big oven. Huge piles of cinnabar "ore"

: We were at Horseheaven last summer. We ran across it after reading about it in a 20 year old book! When we went we took a 2X4 pick up and had no problem, maybe it depends on the time of the year. Was the pile of broken glass test tubes still there? I'm glad to hear that the buildings were still there. At the time we visited, it looked like someone had been bulldozing the buildings down. Did you find Antelope or Ashwood? We passed through in the dark and could not tell if they were still standing.

Went to Horseheaven last week and took some nice photos, didn't prowl around due to the No Trespass signs and no one was around to ask. Most the buildings still standing. In regards Ashwood and Antelope, they are both still standing towns.
