Tasu started out in 1908 when prospecters found a considerable amount of gold and copper.Pospecting ended in 1923 when the first mine was created. The mine was started in 1923 by Elliot Mining Company and it lasted for a few years until it shut down.In the 1950 Wesfrob Mining did drill tests and abandoned it until 1959 when more drill tests were made. Than in 1965 a small construction arrived there to build a townsite and by 1966 there were 400 residents there and by 1971 there were 1000 residents there but in 1983 the mine shut down, and then the residents abandoned the town and in 1985 the empty buildings were dismanteled.
