| The settlement was begun around 19200 when construction of a hydro dam commenced. A fairly large town site containing nearly 100 homes, bunkhouses, stores, school, government services, hospital, post office (1922-1974), and a peak population of a 1000. The town was no longer needed and the settlement dismantled (1975-6). Many homes were moved to Nipigon, and the site reverted to history. Submitted by: Yvan P.Charbonneau |
