REMAINS:
Queen’s Bush was rapidly being settled when Lebanon came into being in the 1850s. By 1857, the town could claim two hotels, a pair of general stores, a shoe store, and a gristmill. It also had several blacksmith shops, a chopping mill, a Methodist church and a school. The original school was lost in 1902 when it was demolished by a tornado. A new school was built and lasted until 1961 when amalgamation closed it. As time passed, businesses closed one by one. In 1952 the last general store burned down erasing any reason for Lebanon to exist as a business community. The one time school has been converted to a home.
