| From 1952-70, the Newaygo Timber Company esatblished a village to facilitate their pulpwood enterprise. The community consisted of a large municipal office (containing a hall, school, company store, post office). A doz large homes and bunkhouses sheltered the residents. During cutting season nearly 250 residents lived Mosher, while quitter times kept a more sober 125 year round.Operation moved to Hearst in 1972 and the town site was removed.
