Seguin Falls is worth seeing. The town began as a stopping place for tired stagecoach travelers. Its hotel gained a reputation for fine food and was the place to stay for rest and relaxation. As the railroads came to the area, the track was laid about four kilometers south of the hotel. As expected, travelers preferred the train to the stagecoach and a new Seguin Falls grew up at the train station. The village had stores, a church, and homes from cabins to larger homes along a tree-lined street south of the railroad track. During the late 1920s, it was not unusual for as many as twenty trains a day to pass through Seguin Falls. In 1933, an ice flow destroyed a bridge along the route and through service came to a halt. In 1955, the railroad closed forever. By 1960, all but two buildings stood vacant. Submitted by: Henry Chenoweth
