COMMENTS: Near Lake Mead.
REMAINS: A few scattered remnants.
Located by Mormons in 1853, the Grand Gulch site was only operated sporadically until around 1913. A smelter was erected in 1870, but proved unsuccessfull. In 1906, the Grand Gulch Copper company started production and shipped 120 tons of copper ore monthly to Salt Lake City. Today there are only a few ruins left.
