Doble began as Bairdstown, then became Gold Mountain, when Lucky Baldwin took it over.Baldwin came from the Motherlode of Virginia City. He was part owner in the Ophir Mine. Lucky's son in-law took over managing the mine and his name was Budd Doble, hence the name Doble. To this day the dry lake located below Doble is called Baldwin Lake Submitted by: Dawn Dickerson
