NAME: Bean COUNTY: Carbon ROADS: 4WD GRID: 5 CLIMATE: Normal Montana climate, heavy snow in winter BEST TIME TO VISIT: Late spring until early fall

COMMENTS: The roads are mostly dirt roads with some gravel. 4WD is recommended if wet. No residents. Bean is located on the southwest side of the Pryor Mountains near Piney Creek. REMAINS: No buildings remaining.

Bean was named for postmaster Jordon Bean when the office opened in 1894. The 'office' was an apple box in his homestead cabin until it was discontinued in 1900. Submitted by: Norma Jean Anderson
