BEST TIME TO VISIT: Unknown 		COMMENTS: An ancestor, Joseph Hassell from Massachusetts was said to have a mine in Hassell, Montana. Later returned to Massachusetts. I have a photo of a dated envelope from him stamped Hassell MT. Saw a an old newspaper article on the town once.

Opened as St. Louis 11/17/1869 and closed 7/26/1880. Reestablised 2/16/1881 and closed 4/04/1890. Reestablished 5/29/1890 and name changed to Hassel 8/22/1895 then closed 3/15/1905. Reestablished 1/19/1909 and closed 2/14/1911
